Was in the area for work and a group of friends and I decided to go to this spot. Seems to be black owned and it did NOT disappoint! We ordered food; jumbo shrimp and Mac and cheese. AMAZING! Drinks were strong and the food was good. The bonus was the dance floor, which the owners were dancing with us and teaching us a line dance. I would absolutely visit this place again when I am in the area
I've never had a bad meal or drink here. The bar is beautiful and most of the staff is family. I love Poize. One of the best bars in Buffalo.
Went on Karaoke Night (Tuesday) and it was a lively crowd. Cheap drinks and good music. The DJ's karaoke list though left a lot to be desired. It didn't have any tracks newer than 2005! The wings served were big and the drinks were strong.
My fiancée and I decided to try a new spot for date night (for us). We got there kinda early, before it began to fill up. So we had our choice of seating and chose a table mid-way between the bar and the music system. Since there's already a description on here of the lounge itself, I'll just gush about the music and the people. And there was a great combination of both. Tanisha (I hope that's how it's spelled) was a wonderful hostess. Extremely well-dressed, she was very attentive, friendly and welcoming. A great conversationalist, she has a wonderful sense of humor while being supremely thorough in her duties. She made sure we were satisfied with everything from our drinks to our food and even the music selection. They were scheduled to have a spanish night upstairs (which we definitely plan to return for), and she invited us to check out that section of the place before it got too busy. I cannot say enough how welcome and cared for she made us feel. I mentioned earlier about the food and drinks and I can't say enough about them. It was the first time I'd ever tried lemon-pepper chicken fingers and they were out of this world. You could taste more of the lemon than pepper in every bite, which is exactly how I prefer my lemon-pepper dishes (if I can't get an equal taste of both). The taste resonated on my tongue and throughout the rest of my mouth even after I finished the last bite. I would highly recommend it. And the peach cobbler we had for dessert tasted so decadent and home-made, it was like heaven in every bite. I say bite, but it was so light and sweet that it literally melted in my mouth almost as soon as it hit my tongue. I would recommend this establishment for anyone looking for a great date-night spot or just looking for a spot to watch ESPN (lol), to a group looking to have a great time in a place with a great atmosphere and welcoming hosts.
I recently visited and explored Poize. I ordered the chicken wing dinner and a friend ordered the ribs. The food, service, and drinks were excellent. For a local bar, they have expanded and it's great. Tia is a great host and bartender. I will definitely frequent this place
